Our World Without the Web?

Through its members Tekna is a part of creating the future, but how would the present and future look like if the www hadn't been created?

Kreator'10 and Tekna wil send the winner and a friend to Geneva in Switzerland, where you are specially invited to visit CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research). Walk the corridor where the www was invented, touch the internet backbone, see the anti-matter machine that inspired Dan Brown to blow up the Vatican, and get an introduction in operating the biggest machine in the world: the Large Hadron Collider. Task:

IF THE WWW HAD NEVER BEEN INVENTED, WHAT WOULD OUR WORLD AND FUTURE LOOK LIKE ?

You're free to choose whatever format you like It can be anything from image(s), movies, sounds, music, shape figures, acting, animation, text, etc.
- Your creativity is your only limit.

Prize:

Two students* will get: Return flights to Geneva**, two nights at CERN's hotel*** and an unique and exciting tour around CERN.

Deadline: Sunday 14/3 before 23.59 o'clock
The contribution should be sent or delivered to Ingrid Lonar, lonar (at) stud.ntnu.no. Please contact her by email to arrange your submission.

Selecting a winner:

The winner is selected by a jury, with 5 representatives from Tekna and Start NTNU. The winner will be announced on MIXER the 18th of March. NB! To sign up for MIXER click here. The contributions will be judged on creativity and the presentation of your idea.

 

Departure:

  • if you want to travel in april, booking of travel and accommodation must be done before 26th of March. Traveling in june, booking must be done before 29th of April. 
  • The winner determines the departure date *** but must take place before June 30, 2010.
  • You can choose to spend more nights in Switzerland, but not at CERN's hotel and will have to arrange this yourself.
